Treadway: Exhibition spotlights Berkeley mud flat artist

Berkeley artist Tyler Hoare, who has been launching planes, ships and other model art pieces made in his Albany studio along the East Bay shoreline for more than fourty years, is the subject of a completely new exhibition.

Tyler James Hoare, Mud Flat Artist that runs through June 1 at 5701 Telegraph Gallery in Oakland.

Hoare, who turns 76 this year, is best known for his big scale guerilla sculptures which he installed directly into the SF Bay in the 1970s and 1980s, notes the gallery.

The solo exhibition, which will include original works for sale, can be seen from six :30-11:45 in the afternoon Fridays or by appointment at the gallery at 5701 Telegraph Ave.
